About ralli
- What is ralli?
- ralli is a global fundraising platform built around a simple idea: the money you raise should reach the cause, not disappear into fees. You can start a campaign for yourself, someone else, or a community cause, share it anywhere, and supporters can give in a single tap.
- Does ralli hold my money?
- No. ralli is non-custodial — we never hold or move your funds ourselves. Payments are handled by a licensed payment partner, and money moves directly between supporters and the people they're supporting. ralli's role is to run the platform and instruct the partner; the partner moves the money.
- Who is behind ralli?
- ralli is operated by a New Zealand registered company (#9450980) and is governed by New Zealand law. We're a small, independent team.
Fees
- How much does ralli charge?
- ralli charges a flat 2% platform fee on the funds a campaign raises. That's it — no setup fees, no monthly fees, no listing fees, and no requests for tips. Founding campaigns pay no platform fee at all.
- What about payment processing fees?
- Separate from ralli's 2%, the licensed payment partner that processes a contribution charges its own fee, and it depends entirely on how you pay. It can be almost nothing on low-cost methods like crypto or local bank transfer, and more on credit and debit cards. So the payment method you choose makes a real difference to how much reaches the campaign.
- How do I keep the fees as low as possible?
- Choose a low-cost payment method when you give. Paying by crypto or a local bank method costs close to nothing to process, while cards cost more — so choosing wisely means more of your contribution lands with the cause. ralli shows you the options available in your country.
- So how much of my contribution actually reaches the campaign?
- ralli's own fee is always just 2%. On top of that sits the payment partner's processing fee for the method you choose — from almost zero on crypto or local rails up to a few percent on cards. Pick a low-cost method and close to 98% reaches the campaign. You'll always see the exact amounts before you confirm.
Giving
- How do I give?
- Open a campaign, choose an amount, and pay. Contributions can be as little as one dollar — one person, one dollar, one tap.
- Can I give without creating an account?
- Yes. Quick $1 contributions can be made without signing up or giving an email. Note that contributions made without a verified email cannot be refunded or cancelled — this is shown clearly before you give.
- How can I pay?
- The payment methods available depend on your country — typically cards and local options such as bank transfer or local payment methods. ralli shows you what's available and routes your payment through the most cost-effective option for where you are.
- Can I give from another country?
- Yes. ralli is built for global giving — supporters and creators can be almost anywhere in the world, and payments are routed through local methods country by country.
Refunds & cancellations
- Can I get a refund?
- Contributions are generally final, but if you change your mind quickly you can cancel your own contribution with one click while the funds are still held — during the payout-hold window (currently 48 hours). You're refunded the contribution minus the payment-processing fees, which the providers don't return and so can't be returned to you. Once funds are paid out to a campaign, refunds are no longer automatic.
- Why might I get back less than I gave?
- A refund is net of payment-processing fees, which are already spent and non-recoverable. On small contributions these can be a large proportion of the amount, so you may receive back significantly less than you gave; on larger contributions the difference is minor. The exact refund amount is shown to you before you confirm.
- I made a quick $1 contribution without an email — can I cancel it?
- No. Refunds and cancellations require a verified email so we can securely confirm it's really you. Quick $1 contributions made without an email are final, and this is stated clearly before you give.
- Where does a refund go?
- Always back to the original payment method the contribution came from — never to a different card, person, or account. This protects you and is an anti-money-laundering control.
Creating a campaign
- How do I start a campaign?
- Register, tell your story, set a goal, and add a photo. It takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing to launch — the only fee is the flat 2% on what you raise.
- Who is eligible to create a campaign?
- Anyone old enough to enter a legally binding contract, raising for a truthful and lawful purpose, in a supported country. You verify your identity before you withdraw funds.
- What can I raise money for?
- A wide range of genuine causes — medical, emergency, memorial, education, community, animal, environment, creative projects, and more. Campaigns must be truthful and funds must be used for the stated purpose. Prohibited uses are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Does it cost anything to start?
- No. Creating and sharing a campaign is free. ralli only takes its flat 2% from the funds you actually raise.
Getting paid & identity verification (KYC)
- Do I need to verify my identity?
- Not to give, and not to create a campaign. Before you withdraw funds, you complete a quick identity check (known as KYC). This is standard for any regulated payment service — it keeps campaigns accountable, protects supporters, and helps prevent fraud.
- When and how do I get paid?
- When you're ready to withdraw, and after a short payout-hold period, funds are paid out to your linked account by our payment partner — minus the flat 2%. ralli itself never holds the money.
- Why is there a hold before payout?
- A short hold (currently 48 hours) is the window in which supporters can self-cancel, and it gives fraud screening time to work. It protects both supporters and creators before money is released.
Trust & safety
- How does ralli prevent fraud?
- Several layers: identity verification before withdrawal, automated fraud screening of campaigns and contributions, a reserve fund, and the ability for anyone to report a campaign. Suspicious activity can be caught and refunded before you even ask.
- How do I report a campaign?
- Use the report button on the campaign's page — that's the fastest way to reach our review team — or email complaints@ralli.fund.
- How do I make a complaint?
- Email complaints@ralli.fund. We acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and aim to resolve them within 20. Full details are on our Complaints page.
